Joining an Online Language Exchange Program

I joined an online language exchange program last month, pairing with a Canadian student named Emma. We chat for 30 minutes every Saturday—she learns Chinese from me, and I practice English with her. At first, I was nervous to speak, but Emma encouraged me to be brave. We talk about our school life, hobbies, and favorite foods. I taught her to say “jiaozi” and explained its meaning. She shared Canadian customs like Halloween. Last week, we showed each other our bedrooms via video call. This program improved my oral English and broadened my horizons. I’ve made a new friend and learned more about Western culture.
