The Joy of a Rainy Day Picnic

The Joy of a Rainy Day Picnic
Most people hide indoors on rainy days, but my friends and I decided to have a picnic—inside. We spread a blanket on my living room floor, filled baskets with sandwiches, chips, and hot chocolate, and opened the windows to let in the fresh rain smell. The sound of raindrops hitting the roof became our background music. We laughed as we spilled cocoa, told silly stories, and even danced to a playlist of our favorite songs. When the rain slowed, we stepped outside for a minute, letting the mist kiss our faces. It wasn’t the perfect picnic—no sunny sky or green grass—but it was perfect for us. That day taught me that fun doesn’t depend on the weather. It depends on who you’re with and the willingness to turn a rainy afternoon into an adventure. Sometimes, the best memories are the ones that don’t go as planned.
