My Best Friend

My Best Friend
My best friend is Lily. We’ve been friends since we were in first grade. Lily is kind, funny, and always there for me. When I’m sad, she tells me jokes to make me laugh. When I have trouble with my homework, she helps me understand it. We do many things together—we go to the movies, play tennis, and have sleepovers. Last month, I had a birthday party, and Lily made me a homemade cake. It was chocolate, my favorite flavor. She also gave me a book I’d been wanting to read for a long time. One time, I forgot my lunch at home, and Lily shared her lunch with me. Having a best friend like Lily makes me feel lucky. I know we’ll be friends forever, even when we grow up and go to different schools. True friendship is a precious gift, and I’m grateful for Lily.
