A Sunny Day Picking Apples with Family
Last Saturday was sunny, so my family and I went to an apple orchard. The orchard was full of green and red apples. The farmer gave us baskets and told us to pick the red ones— they were ripe. I climbed a small ladder to reach the apples on the high branches. My dad helped me hold the ladder. I picked an apple and bit into it— it was crisp and sweet. My little brother picked the smallest apples and put them in his basket. We picked two full baskets. On the way home, we stopped to buy apple cider. My mom made apple pie with the apples we picked. It smelled amazing. Picking apples was a fun day. I learned that fresh fruit tastes better when you pick it yourself.
